Roadmap:

This is a developmental feature with time. It is intended to start with email notification feature and then grow to a messaging feature in future releases. The below description holds true for email notifications only. Scope in orange is for future releases.

Idea:

Notification / messaging feature is intended to keep the engagement level of the users to an acceptable level. The feature intends to bridge the requirements and offer between participants(individuals and organizations) and close the loop. A participant can request more details on any offer/request post by leaving a comment and the author of the post will be notified via email/in-app notifications/outside app notifications.

Objectives/Goals:

• Notify users with any updates or changes (defined below) to their post(s) via emails, in-app notifications, third party messengers (chatbots)
• Bring users back to the FP platform and increase engagement levels of users
• "Close the loop" of matching people with the offers/requests and help achieve the goal of users (which is to get or give help)
• Keep the metric of closing the requests offers before expiry above 50%
• Notify users when their post is about to expire

*an update or change to a post include (but is not limited to): likes, comments, and shares

Participants in the feature:

Individuals requesting or seeking help

• Author: The creator of the post. This can be an individual or an organization only. Hence, the participant is a registered user.
• Commentor: All the users who comment on the post
• Liker: All the users who like the post

Organizations requesting or seeking help Admin for moderating messages

All the email notifications go to the respective email of the participant (ie if the author is an org then the mail goes only to the org email and if he is an individual profile then the mail goes to the individual email.)

Success Criteria:

• When a user is notified of any activity on his or her own post:

  • activity including: likes, comments, shares, imminent post expiry, edits, deletes

  When a user is notified of other comments added to a post they previously commented on
