In this article, you will learn how to properly apply OneTablet tags to make your menu clear and intuitive for users, and facilitate kitchen preparation.
Additionally, if when you configured your menu, some products are not displayed correctly on the OneTablet, it is likely due to the product configuration as presented in this article.

The product display categories found on the OneTablet (main, drinks...) are configured in the Kitchen Display Setting
tab in the details of each product on the Menu manager.
When you create a product, you have the option to create it as:
Single Item
: For example, fries, a sauce, a burger. You can always add options and extras to it.
Meal Deal
: For example, a menu that combines several products as options and extras that are mandatory.
The choice you make initially cannot be changed.
The choice determines how the products are displayed on the OneTablet. Meal Deals will be displayed differently. You can choose to display the products that make up your meal deal on the OneTablet:
Go to the Kitchen Display Settings
tab in the details of an item
You can select a category based on the type of product, which will determine how the products are displayed on the OneTablet.
👉 Items in each category will be displayed grouped with a colored tag on the side on the OneTablet to facilitate preparation.
👉 Based on their tag, items will be displayed in a way that the main
items are at the top, followed by sides
, and at the bottom are desserts
, drinks
, & sauces
to facilitate reading on the OneTablet.
👉 The Modifier
type refers to options or extras that you offer to your customers to customize their products.
Unlike individual products, meal deals consist of multiple products that the customer can select. These products are defined in modifier groups, which represent the categories that the customer can choose from.
The menu manager allows you to choose precisely how to display meal deals on the OneTablet, so that the instructions are correct in the kitchen. Two parameters can vary.
👉 Displaying or not the name of the meal deals or a modifier
This parameter allows you to not display the name of the item in the kitchen, but only what composes it.
You can hide the name of the meal deals in the kitchen if you want the cooks to only see the burger, fries, and drink separately on the OneTablet, and not see these products grouped under the menu name.
👉 Displaying or not the product indented under the meal deal name
If for a specific menu, its packaging implies that it is important for the kitchen to know that a main dish should be paired with a side dish, it is possible to configure the display to be that way. In this case, the meal deal name will be displayed on the OneTablet, and the products that make up the meal deal will be displayed below indented. To do this, click the Indent below item
button for the modifiers of the meal deal that should be displayed below the meal deal name.
Modifier groups are groups of options that you can add to a dish to allow the customer to customize it. You can add them to meal deals (see the example above), or add them to individual products. Regardless of whether they are added to meal deals or individual products, you can choose in both cases whether to display them on the OneTablet or not, and whether to indent them under the parent item or not.
If I want to create a meal deal from existing products, and these products already have options/modifiers.
For example, I have a burger with an extra bacon option, and I want to create a meal deal with this burger, sides, and drinks, and offer the extra bacon option on this burger when selected as part of the meal deal
Options and upgrades
category, check the Include these options and upgrades if the item is added to a meal deal
box so that these options appear when you create a meal deal<aside> 👉 Related content
