This is data that is used in the platform to help students visualize and set goals, counselors to track progress. Most of the data sets here cannot be passed through roster syncing mechanisms so must be deposited on SchooLinks SFTP server.

Student Tags

Student tags can be any arbitrary designation that is added to create a grouping of students. If you would like to be able to group students for analytics by a certain variable and this is broadly applicable at a district or school level, then this variable is a good candidate for being assigned a specific student tag. Examples of common tags used by districts include "Special Education," "Out of District Transfer," or "AVID."

If tags are being synced, District Technology team members should make sure that these tags will be used by the academic/counseling team stakeholders to avoid adding unnecessary clutter to the platform

Tags are only visible to staff members - not students or guardians. We also have a flag for “sensitive” that we can set on each tag to restrict the visibility of certain tags that all staff members should not be able to see based on district preference or legal requirements. When you are loading tags, mention to your implementation manager if you would like to restrict the visibility of certain tags

Other Student Data

This data contained in these files are generally sent directly from a district's SIS or Data Warehouse. Many of these files may be required based on your implementation plan because the data in these files is a part of students "Personalized Plans" (eg ICAP, PGP, ILP, etc).

The files necessary for use in Key Readiness Indicators are indicated by a target 🎯, which you can also see on our Key Readiness Indicators page.

Attendance Data

We currently support the upload of data about student attendance in three different formats. You should choose whichever format(s) are most important for your counselors to track and what format might be used for any state/district wide accountability metrics:
