श्रमजित किशोर माध्यामिक विद्यालय
Shramjit School wants to make a Making space that focuses on art, craft, and Electric/Electronic Repairs. Many students in this school have families that don't have a lot of money. Some kids' parents do hard work as laborers. Some students come here not only to study books but also to learn other useful things/skills.
Prakash Sir (Principal), thinks this school is not only for learning but also a bit like a place where people get better (like a rehab center). The students here are different because some are as old as 30 but still in the 9th grade. The students like making things with their hands, like decorations for the school. That's why Prakash Sir wants to have a special place where they can do arts, and crafts, and learn about fixing things.

When we first visited the school, we were filled with ideas. Prakash sir mentioned that the students enjoyed crafts, but we also noticed their interest in fixing things. Some students even help with repairs around the school when needed. With this in mind, we thought combining crafts with repairs could be a great idea at Shramjit School.
Among the five schools, Shramjit posed a challenge due to limited space. They had to schedule classes at different times because there wasn't enough room for everyone at once. The older kids (grades 6 to 10) start at 6 a.m. and finish at 10 a.m., while the younger students start at 10 a.m. Managing everyone's comings and goings became difficult, especially with extra classes.
Although finding a dedicated space was a bit troublesome, the teachers gave us two options. The first was to use the school's program hall, which could be rearranged for events and later utilized for our maker activities. The second option was to use the library space. However, there was a catch: the library room was sometimes used for math classes. To address this, we came up with the idea of a mobile Making Space. This way, sharing rooms wouldn't pose a major issue.
After measuring the space, we brainstormed some ideas. We decided to utilize the walls for displaying our work and storing our Making Space materials. Additionally, we planned to have movable tables that could be arranged according to class schedules.

During our second visit to the school, we received some great news! The school managed to rearrange the math class to a different room, which means the makerspace will now only be shared with the library. This is excellent news because it allows us to add a mural and create a thematic decoration for the Making Space.
