Background
We’re designing a browser extension for users with distinctive tastes. Our users are confident online shoppers who know exactly which items they want to eventually buy. Generally, these are items that won’t be available at major retailers, and may only be available on one website.
Current pain points
- Unsuccessful alerts
- Discoverable alerts
- Give users several notification delivery options
- Unwieldy UI
- Avoid automated on-screen functionality
- Use containers and colors with strong contrast to the browser and webpage
- Loss of privacy
- Free extensions generate profits by monetizing user data and shopping habits
- A paid extension could protect user privacy, but the user base will be considerably smaller
- Lack of tracking options
- Price drops by: x amount, x percentage, x below historical price
- Inaccurate or unintelligible information
- Design easily understandable visual design and UIUP
