HeiniBot, an innovative Bot app, empowers businesses to effortlessly oversee their expenses and promote enhanced project accounting. Initially encountering usability hurdles, I initiated a thorough research and flow analysis to enhance the user experience significantly. The objective was to create an intuitive, yet powerful bot app tailored for finance accounting in companies, optimizing Slack's external app opportunities to its fullest potential.

I had the privilege of working with a talented team at Heini Constructions to enhance their Slack-integrated order recording bot. The goal was to streamline data representation and implement specific restrictions for better efficiency. This collaboration was an incredibly insightful and rewarding experience for me.

Process:

• Research and Analysis: I conducted a thorough research study on Slack’s external app requirements with the help of my development team and also carried out extensive qualitative interviews with current users to find their pain points and user goals while aligning these insights with the business goals. I also studied trends and competitors to improve my data findings.
• User Data: After the research, I arranged the insights I got to finally tree the bot’s flow for the users while reducing clutters and encouraging early testers.
• User Flow: Came up with a better and simpler user flow for the bot app, reduced action steps from 5 to 2 while maintaining the same capabilities and functions of the bot app.
• Happy paths/ Sad paths: Considering the switching of the flow, I realized several paths that could come up during the use of the bot app and then created solutions for when a user faces “Unplanned” problems.
