Our Story

We’re a diverse team that encompasses all things operations, localisation, and post-production. Though our roles are distinct, we work very closely with one another, always mutually supportive and collaborative.

We sit at the heart of the business. This means we have daily cross-functional interactions with our colleagues in neighbouring teams. We collaborate on nearly every task, from Sales, Account Management, and Channel Management to Product, Engineering, and ML.

The business team is only half of our world 🪙. Papercup works with 200+ international freelancers across multiple roles (we’ll explore more about these below), and it is the responsibility of the LocOps team to ensure that we have the right people in the right place at the right time to execute various tasks within our workflow.

The PMs are responsible for the smooth running of all our projects, from handover from the Customer team to delivery of assets back to the client.

Within this, they interact with both business colleagues (Account Management, Product, and ML) and our freelance workforce, who provide our HiTL expertise (Localisation Specialists, Voice Actors, Video Editors, and Audio Engineers).

The PMs run multiple client projects at any one time, often with different requirements and workflows. They are masters of multi tasking!

The Video Editor Manager at Papercup leads the team of freelance video editors, acting as the point of contact between them and the wider team, assigning projects, providing feedback, and serving as the SME on video for the organisation.

Vendor Managers at Papercup are responsible for our freelance workforce.

Their role is wide-ranging - from hiring, contracting and onboarding freelancers to performance management and owning community initiatives.

The Vendor Management team interacts with over 200 freelancers in multiple countries and time zones, ensuring they all feel part of the Papercup family.

VA Leads at Papercup are responsible for our Voice Actors. Their role includes evaluating and onboarding new VAs, serving as the day-to-day point of contact for the VA team, assigning tasks, and collaborating with VAs to ensure high-quality final results.
