<aside> π This is a running document of things I am learning and thinking about in regards to education / learning. I don't necessarily agree with all of these theories, but I am thinking about them!
TOPICS: how we learn (theories; research; anecdotal), education systems (K-12; higher-ed; hagwons/tutoring), learning culture (US; South Korea; China; Finland); future of schools; edtech; hot takes & rants; user research / stories on the ground
Note: I live in the US, so this will be fairly biased towards American public schools.
(For some context: Learning how we can address inequities in America's public K-12 system was how I first got interested in the education space!)
I'm always looking for more articles, book/documentary/podcast recs, opinions, and people willing to talk to me about their learning/school experiences! Also, if you can think of a better way to organize this (very, very loosely based off of the Zettelkasten Research Method), please let me know β I'm still experimenting!
I am super inspired by Andy Matuschak & how seriously he takes Knowledge Work so yes β we're trying to build some Evergreen notes, people!
Reach out if you'd like to chat about any of this stuff (I can talk about this for hours, I swear): I can be found on Twitter or send π¦ βοΈ my way @ giannachan99@gmail.com !
