To use these tools, you must first get certified by a member of makerspace leadership by testing out or taking a certification course (see tool certification). Once you are certified, you must pay for the time you spend using the tool. This is the time the tool is actively cutting/etching/etc. and will be referred to as “active machine time.” There are tiers of membership that cover some or all monthly tool time.
Next to each tool is a badging device that checks user training and turns on tools. You can learn more about this here. The makerspace will tally up your time at the end of the month and send you an invoice for anything beyond the monthly usage included in your membership.
