this blog is a compilation of some of the amazing meals i had growing up, prepared at home by my mom. the remarkable thing is that most of these recipes just lived in her head, as she taught herself and picked up new ideas here and there. i finally spent a few weeks with her in the kitchen, doing my best to document her work as she shuffled between chopping, washing, stirring, baking, and pulling things in and out of drawers and refrigerators. she is a force to be reckoned with in the kitchen, capable of whipping up gourmet meals and dinner parties in a flash. we've "veganized" many of the original recipes to fit a more animal-friendly diet.
