Space Educator, Galactic Unite "Spacechats" Organizer
Ron is a Future Astronaut with Virgin Galactic and informal space and astronomy educator. He organizes and leads Galactic Unite "Spacechats" - live videoconference Q&A sessions with students from all over the world, who meet directly with Virgin Galactic staff and Future Astronauts. Through March 2022, these Spacechats have connected 15,000 students and educators from 13 countries and over 200 schools. He also has a reservation for balloon trips into the stratosphere; he hopes to make those trips in 2025 or soon after.
Ron Rosano has a 25+ years of experience discussing astronomy and space travel with students of all ages. Beginning in 1995, he has led presentations and in-class lessons with many thousands of K-12 students and the public, and is a NASA Solar System Ambassador.
Ron has closely followed NASA and other space missions ever since the Apollo lunar flights, and was credited for his work on NASA's Apollo Lunar Surface Journal. Ron has been active in public telescope viewing with the San Francisco Amateur Astronomers, and serves on the Advisory Council of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, Board of Advisors of the Human Space Program, and Board of Directors of the Nepal Youth Foundation.
