Brief

4 members of the UX Improvement Team at the Filecoin Foundation, each with varying levels of technical expertise, were assigned to review the latest version of the Filecoin Plus page in the Filecoin Documentation. Their task was to identify and document any difficulties in understanding the presented information, as well as to note inconsistencies or unclear descriptions. A previous dogfooding session for this page was conducted in July, and the corresponding report is available Filecoin+ Documentation Report.

What is Filecoin Plus?

• Consider starting with a simple introduction to Filecoin Plus that explains its role within the ecosystem, its goals, and basic functionality without getting into technical details, making it accessible, engaging, and easy for users of all backgrounds to understand.

Key Concepts

Instead of having separate sections like “Storage Providers & DataCap” and “Filecoin+ Processes & Participants,” consider combining them into a new section called “Key Concepts.” In this section, it could be introduced:

• DataCap: Consider explaining what it is, what it does, and highlighting its benefits in straightforward terms.

• Allocators: Consider describing who they are and their role.
  • Consider using call-to-action text when linking to other pages or external resources. For example, instead of linking with generic text like “this blog,” use more informative phrases like “Learn more about allocators.”
