OnYourMark Education provides virtual, individualized, high-dosage instruction in foundational early literacy skills. Their vision is for all children to have access to high quality foundational skills instruction and become thriving readers with choice-filled lives. Their goal is that all kids receive the foundational skills in early literacy that support successful reading outcomes by the end of 2nd grade. Cambiar Education is a nonprofit venture design studio that sparks positive change by scaling bold ideas that massively accelerate student success. OnYourMark Education is a project of Cambiar Education.
Learning to read is at the heart of education, but only 30% of students in the U.S. read at grade level. This alarming statistic underscores the urgent need for effective literacy interventions. COVID-19 only worsened literacy results and accelerated a burgeoning teacher staffing crisis. With 36,000 vacant teaching positions, it has become increasingly challenging to ensure that students have a highly qualified teacher in front of them who has been adequately trained in the Science of Reading. OnYourMark tutors teach children in K-5th grades how to read, using the Science of Reading and ensuring students’ learning and social emotional needs are met.

To help tutors successfully contribute to students’ literacy education, we designed the Integrated Literacy Success Dashboard, a comprehensive platform designed to support tutors in enhancing student literacy outcomes. It provides valuable insights into student reading scores and identifies individuals at risk of falling behind. Moreover, the platform leverages a flexible tutor workforce to support reading instruction by implementing targeted interventions. This project aligns with OnYourMark’s mission to help students unlock opportunity-filled lives through literacy.
Once fully deployed in the 2025 school year, the Integrated Literacy Success Dashboard will support 8,000 struggling readers and 3,000 literacy tutors.
