• Tag:

  • A Tag is a snippet of code or a small script added to a website to collect and send data to a third-party service (like Google Analytics, Meta Ads, etc.). Tags are mostly used to track user behavior.

  <aside> ⚠️ These tags are completely different from the tags you can assign to members.

• Google Tag Manager (GTM):

  • Google Tag Manager is a tool to manage and deploy marketing tags on your website without modifying the underlying code. It simplifies the process of adding and updating tags, through a user-friendly interface.
  • GTM is not the final objective, but serves as a bridge connecting bsport with GA4 and/or Meta Pixel.

• Google Analytics 4 (GA4):

  • Google Analytics 4 is the latest version of Google’s web analytics platform, designed to provide insights into user interactions with its reports.

• Meta Pixel (ex-Facebook Pixel)

  • Meta Pixel is a piece of code that you place on your website to track conversions from Meta ads, optimize ad targeting, and build audiences for future ads. It helps you understand how users interact with your site after clicking on your ads and allows you to retarget them with more relevant ads.

1. Create a GTM account

To create a Google Tag Management account and container, we’re reproducing the steps described in this Google tutorial: https://support.google.com/tagmanager/answer/14842164?hl=en&ref_topic=15191151&sjid=13941559222346761171-EU

1. Go to https://tagmanager.google.com.

2. Sign in to your Google Account. Learn how to create a Google Account.

3. In Tag Manager, click the Accounts tab (top left), then select Create Account (top right).

   

4. In the Account Setup section, follow these steps:

   1. Enter an account name.
   2. Select the country location

5. In the Container Setup section, follow these steps:

   1. Enter a container name

      Give a name that is going to help you easily identify which website you are tracking. Especially if you have multiple websites

   2. Select Web for the container type

6. Click Create and agree to the Terms of Service.
