Birthday Leave 🥂

We recognise the importance of birthdays as a milestone in one’s life, and the festivities that may accompany it. We also recognise that some people wish to celebrate their day with a lie in, shopping or visiting family. So, as a little prezzie from Automata we would like to offer the additional benefit of having your birthday off as an additional paid day of leave.

We also understand that there will be some of you that would like to come into work that day and be with your peers but would benefit from having the Friday off instead for pre-longed birthday weekend plans, and we're down for that🎉 That’s why we will give you the flexibility to book any day of your birthday week off. (Monday – Friday)

If your birthday falls on a weekend or Bank holiday do not fret, you too can also book a working day off that week. Remember – it’s our birthday gift to you 😊 Just needs to be booked in advance via bob with the usual approval process and business needs will come first.

• E.g. Your birthday falls on a Sunday; you can book a day between the previous Monday and Friday. Should your birthday fall on any planned closures (e.g. Christmas) you can book a day from the week before.

Birthday Gift 🎁

You have up to £50 to spend on whatever you wish as part of your birthday celebration! Here's how to claim it back:

1. Make Your Purchase: Treat yourself to a gift, a meal, or anything else you’d like—it's completely up to you!
2. Reimburse Your Expense: Upload your receipt to Spendesk, using the description "Birthday Allowance - [Month of Birthday]" and selecting the People cost centre so it routes to the People team for approval.

Terms & Conditions:

• The purchase must be dated within your birthday month.
• The expense must be submitted via Spendesk within one month of your birthday.
• We’d like employee’s to follow the same guidance as used for the wellness budget, with the exceptions of food/ restaurants - think of it as us taking you out for a birthday treat!

Birthday Trees🌴

Climate change is harming our planet, but if we all make a small change, we can make a big impact. That’s why we’ve partnered with (more:trees) to create our own Automata Forest by planting a tree for every Automatron on their birthday, every year.

(more:trees) enables us to plant trees, so we can help sequester carbon dioxide in the future. They work with tree planting partners across the world, bringing us a variety of projects to support and ensuring our trees are planted, cared for and supporting wider community benefits.
