A datathon is a weekend-long event where you can collaborate with other students on a data science project to learn new skills, create social impact, and innovate new solutions! There’s also plenty of time for networking with our partners, meeting other hackers, and attending workshops and mini events! In short, it’s a weekend dedicated to collaboration, data science, and community.
Any university or college student 18 or older can attend!
The Rowdy Datathon is completely FREE to attend, thanks to our awesome partners. You don't have to worry about a thing -- we'll provide meals, snacks, t-shirts, swag, prizes, and more all weekend long!
The Rowdy Datathon is a weekend-long event, and we want to make sure you’re prepared! You are encouraged to bring a change of clothes, any hygiene items you may need, and a computer. While we cannot have designated sleeping areas per university policy, y’all are more than welcome to bring a pillow and a blanket and get comfy if you’ll be working late! We’ll be providing food, beverages, and snacks throughout the event, but you’re more than welcome to bring your own. If your laptop does not have a USB port and you already have a dongle, that’ll be good to bring. If you need a dongle but don’t have one, no worries, we’ll take care of it.
No worries! Our datathon is for everyone, regardless of experience! We will have plenty of mentors, resources, and workshops to help you learn throughout the weekend no matter what your skill level is.
Teams can consist of up to 4 hackers! While it isn’t required, we do encourage attendees to participate as part of a team. Don't have a team? No worries, we will have an opportunity before the event for you to meet other hackers and form teams!
This year our datathon will be a 33-hour event (Saturday 9am - Sun 6pm, 24 hours of which will be dedicated to hacking)
No problem! The Rowdy Datathon is open to ANY college, university, or vocational student over 18 years old. We're so excited to see students from all over collaborating and innovating together at this year's event!
