1 Now when the people complained, it displeased the Lord; for the Lord heard it, and His anger was aroused. So the fire of the Lord burned among them, and consumed some in the outskirts of the camp. 2 Then the people cried out to Moses, and when Moses prayed to the Lord, the fire was quenched. 3 So he called the name of the place Taberah, because the fire of the Lord had burned among them. 4 Now the mixed multitude who were among them yielded to intense craving; so the children of Israel also wept again and said: “Who will give us meat to eat? 5 We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic; 6 but now our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!” 10 Then Moses heard the people weeping throughout their families, everyone at the door of his tent; and the anger of the Lord was greatly aroused; Moses also was displeased. 11 So Moses said to the Lord, “Why have You afflicted Your servant? And why have I not found favor in Your sight, that You have laid the burden of all these people on me? 12 Did I conceive all these people? Did I beget them, that You should say to me, ‘Carry them in your bosom, as a guardian carries a nursing child,’ to the land which You swore to their fathers? 13 Where am I to get meat to give to all these people? For they weep all over me, saying, ‘Give us meat, that we may eat.’ 14 I am not able to bear all these people alone, because the burden is too heavy for me.

INTRODUCTION

Everything in our lives has collateral consequences.
Kingdom of God principles include trajectory building and community cause and effect.
Nobody lives in a silo and one thing leads to another.

Romans 5:1-5 (NKJV)

1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

The decisions we make create the pathways upon which we walk in the future.
God had delivered the Israelites from 430 years of bondage.
They camped at Mount Sinai for about a year.
They now have the 10 Commandments, and the cloud and fire lead them out into the wilderness.
It is not long before the Israelites begin to complain against Moses and God.
There is a reason why God tells us how to think.

Philippians 4:8 (NKJV)

8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

I titled this message, Worrying, Wavering, and Wandering to warn us against worrying and fear.

Worrying is to give way to anxiety or unease; allow one's mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles.

If you worry or give in to fear it leads to Wavering.

Wavering is to become unsteady or unreliable.

James chapter one says a double-minded man is unstable in all of his ways.
When you are fearful, become a worrier, and begin to waver in your thinking, you will cause your life to wander.
