I finished my undergraduate with industrial design and minor in sustainability. I was always the kid who love to make something with my own hands and that was why I chose industrial design. But during the college, I want to have a product that can easily explain current problem of sustainability but I only know make things with hand and I couldn’t expand my art without the knowledge of computational background. I choose ITP to collaborate my background with future learning sources and one day I can create my design more structure and user-friendly to people.
Since I have no background of coding or computation, I am really nervous but also excited to learn new things. In this term, I am planning to create a media source that can explain the problem of the Earth which was damaged and dying from the human. I am very interested of project which is called “NYC STREET TREES” I think this really interesting project to show user which types of trees are living in NYC. I feel the visual effects and coding was well collaborated together and this gives more attention to user. I also wants to create something like this.
NYC STREET TREES
At the portrait, I mainly focused on my what my usual face is. So I titled this self portrait as “Usual Expression.” I usually open my mouth bit rather than fully closed. Also when I am tired or eat something heavy, my nose is puffy and it looks huge and I think that is the most characteristic feature at my face so I emphasize the nose. Since it is a self - portrait, I want to focus on just face so I put the shadow behind the face and make sure people can focus on my face. During this work, I wasn’t sure how to use arc correctly. I thought I put all the right numbers but it wasn’t working and it went to wrong position. So I started to put the random number to figure out what is the problem. Also, during the use of arc(), I got confused on, PI, TWO_PI and HALF_PI, I am still confused on when I need to put + sign with correct PI.
Since, this is my first time of using web editor, it took a lot of time than I expected but the process was surprisingly interest.
