I am currently a first-year Cog Sci w/ Design and Interaction major! Prior to VDA, most of my experience came from mobile apps such as Canva and Procreate. VDA pushed me to learn new software and further develop my skills as a designer!
Procreate
For my logo, I wanted to stick close to home, so my theme for my logo was an Etsy store that sells stationery. Since I like to doodle a lot, I included a cat that I like to scribble on my notes and incorporate it into the logo as an artist!
Figma
F2 was my first time using Figma to redesign an app! I downloaded Poop Map as a joke with a friend to compete on who is able to expel their bowel movement more often. However, we gave up keeping track of it as we found the UI to be difficult and frustrating to navigate. I tried to make the app look as clean and direct as I possibly could!
Procreate, InDesign
Inspired by dainty cherub illustrations on my Pinterest, the Kewpie baby, and the month of love, I wanted to make a vintage-inspired Valentine festival poster! I had a lot of fun making the illustrations for this poster, along with picking some of my favorite artists to fit the fictional festival’s theme.
Procreate
Similar to my A1 theme, I wanted to take on the theme of my doodles and incorporate them into sticker form! Using Procreate, I gave the stickers a bright, colorful outline, and cleaned up my linework while still maintaining that doodle-y feeling.
