HN Discussion about simiar ideas
Declutter mind first guide (notifications, digital hygiene)
Host groups for people working on it together? Y goal/category or by cohort?
Move notifications/sitting etc
Community-based skill trees? Will there eventually be conflicting ones? Between user-generated and “sponsored”? Ways to avoid this?
- Milestones (connect to rewards?)
- 4 pounds down
- 5 meals cooked
- $500 saved
- Integration with calorie trackers, calendars
- Reminders and Notifications
- How to stand out from existing deluge of notifications?
- Each notification should be actionable and have a clear purpose
- Cannot be annoying like MFP sometimes become - if it's not needed, it shouldn't be sent (subjective obviously)
- A Daily Plan notification or email (if relevant)
- Generated and delivered every morning (that has actionable things that day)
- Organizing a community - whether by association around a particular module, or strictly by an opt-in geographical way (ie, here’s another 5 people building skills/etc - meet up once a week and exchange progress/tips/advice). Could tie into networking
- In-person tutoring, think more hands-on skills. Instruments, bartending, cooking. I had this specific idea a few months ago - but imagine a group of 10 people chipping in and having an experienced bartender do a tasting/mixing session on a bunch of whiskies or gins. Or 10 people paying say, $50 and getting a 2-hour course from [credentialed/formal] chef/cook on something specific - idk, sauteing vegetables
- An approach to news overload/prioritization?
- Don't forget your pill!: designing effective medication reminder apps that support users' daily routines
