Hi, everyone! Through this case study, I will point out my team's process of redesigning the PasarPolis Employee Benefits insurance website from the beginning until the end of the process that became interactive prototype.  In case you are wondering, PasarPolis as a Skilvul partners gave this project to be our second challenge in the Skilvul Virtual Internship Program that collaborates with Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi Republik Indonesia. Therefore, my team and I are not professionally worked nor contracted by PasarPolis.

Project Brief

Over the past five years, PasarPolis has continued to develop as an insurance bidder platform that focuses on microtransactions to simplify and accelerate all processes from policy purchase to claim collection. The latest PasarPolis platform called PasarPolis Employee Benefit needs some improvements in several aspects, considering most people did not know about the presence of this website and what makes it special from other health insurance websites. Thus, As a UI UX Designer trainee, my team and I must redesign the website based on the following objectives:

  1. To assist users in comprehending PasarPolis's services and products, as well as their greatest services that distinguish them from other platforms.
  2. To make it easier for users to contact PasarPolis directly for further information about their services and products.

Role

In redesigning the PasarPolis Employee Benefits website, I worked with Tetiyah and Galang as my teammates. As UI UX Designer, What we did in the past month was analyze the data, brainstorm the idea, discuss what we got, design the high fidelity mockups, and prototype the result of our UI Design. Despite all of them, I have responsibility for several job descriptions, which were:

  1. Providing some wireframes in the flow of Get Quote which the flow of planning the health insurance program
  2. Creating user flow of chat-boot
  3. Designing the UI of chat-boot, blog, and products
  4. Drafting the scenario of user research

The Design Process - Design Thinking

We chose to rebuild the PasarPolis Employee Benefits website using design thinking as a design process method. Rather than other techniques, design thinking has shown to be quite helpful in deciding the demands of users through a user-centered approach. This procedure consists of five steps: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and testing.

1 - Emphatize

This first step of the design thinking process aims to understand how the users feel when using a health insurance website. In this step, we conducted secondary research, which collects and analyzes the previously collected data. Here is the list of what we did in the stage of empathizing:

  1. Analyzing the competitor products with similar features (like Plump, Easysunday, Qoala, Manulife, Lifepal, Astra Life)
  2. Analyzing user's feedbacks from Appstore and Playstore
  3. Looking for case studies article that related to the product in Medium
  4. Exploring the desired outcome from Challenge Partner, which is PasarPolis
