Definitions:

• "French Tech": This map includes software companies with headquarters in France (the majority), and foreign companies with French founders and a substantial workforce in France.
• "Open-Source": I tried not to be dogmatic with my definition of open-source, so I included both commercial open-source companies (i.e. companies selling value on top of open-source projects), commercial companies contributing substantially to one or several open-source repositories, and open-weight AI companies (well, Mistral AI).
• Companies included are software providers independently of size and age. The only service companies included are those who sell their own software products.
