📣 Class Announcements

• Upgrade the memory on your GCP machine! If you're working with a 16GB GPU, you'll need at least 16GB (probably more) of RAM.
• Don't use the horizontal 1280 x 760 pretrained model for now. Rotate your dataset 90 degrees to vertical and use the vertical pretrained model. (You can also train from scratch, though this will take a few days longer and cost more!)

• Free* (for 8h sessions)
• Jupyter Notebooks— Text + Code
• Only 1 GPU.
• • There is a paid version of Colab for $10/month.
• Nice for quick fast things!

⚙️ Setup and Tips

• Runtime > Set Runtime Type:

  

• You can Mount a Google Drive account. Recommended! Much easier and faster than uploading/downloading from your local machine. You might need to pay for a bigger Google Drive account, but it's worth it (for Derrick at least!).

• To see what GPUs you are running: !nvidia-smi
