Dr. Natalie Tran is a Professor of Educational Leadership and Chair of the Department of Secondary Education at California State University, Fullerton. She also serves as the Director for the National Resource Center for Asian Languages (NRCAL). NRCAL is established to improve the teaching, learning and research of Asian languages including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese by developing instructional resources and professional development for these less commonly taught languages in the U.S. Her research interests include STEM education, dual-language immersion programs, mindfulness, and diversity in higher education. She completed her Ph.D. in Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin.

Dr. Shannon Villanueva is the principal of Cecil B. DeMille Elementary School, the first school in California to offer a Vietnamese Dual Immersion Program. She recently defended her dissertation on “Parent Motivation for Enrollment and Perceptions of a Vietnamese Dual Language Immersion Program: A Qualitative Study” and earned doctoral degree in Educational Leadership at California State University, Fullerton.
