Project Description:

Automated loading of data from Amazon S3 into a cloud data warehouse (Google BigQuery) using Fivetran. Transformed that data in the warehouse using dbt (Data Build Tool) and built dashboards in Tableau.

What excited me from this project:

I am so excited about this project and want to share how powerful the cloud technologies that I have used. Those technologies make it easier for us to access, retrieve, and transform the data to what we need before modeling and visualization, making our life easier! Also, I keep honing the visualization skill to help convey the meaning of the data in a way that’s compelling and relevant to the stakeholders by using Tableau.

Here is the workflow of the project:

In this dashboard, I answer the following question.

• What % of Southwest flights were delayed?
• When Southwest flights were delayed, what was the average arrival delay? How does that compare to others?
• What % of delays were within Southwest's control? Is that consistent across the industry?
• How much time is Southwest making up during a flight?
• What are the costs of these delays?
