Templates are a powerful way to share workflows with other users. Over time, we've seen more people monetizing their templates and creations in Notion, and there's a lot of demand!
Here are a few examples showing how this works:
See the premium template section in the Gallery for more examples.
Creating your own premium templates
Choose an approach:
- Is this is a one-time template?
- Are you planning to produce more of these on an ongoing basis?
- Do you want to charge a set price for the template or let buyers name their price?
- Do you want to offer documentation teaching people how to use your template?
If this is an ongoing production, we'd recommend using Buy Me A Coffee:
- Buy Me A Coffee is a fun way to fund your creativity and build your own community of supporters.
- See Red Gregory, A Notioneer and Life With Notion for some inspiration.
- Set up your page description and add links to your page from your own landing page.
For a one time template, we'd recommend using Gumroad:
- Gumroad is a simple and quick way to set up an e-commerce page.
- First, set up your Gumroad account.
- Decide whether you want to set a specific price or have buyers name their price.
- See how Marie Poulin and Kai David set up their Gumroad pages.
Consider offering more with your templates
- Tara at What Works released her Leadership Dashboard with a planning/personal task management system. The template itself is very simple but she embedded a lot of training into it so it's half a template and half an information product.
- Use Loom to embed explanations directly inside your templates. You can hit
/loom
inside your template page to instantly embed any Loom video.
