Saturn Roadmap

Introduction

Saturn will be one of hopefully many networks to sit alongside the existing Filecoin Storage Provider Network in order to dramatically improve the retrieval performance and reliability of files stored in the wider Filecoin ecosystem.

The v0 proposal for Filecoin Saturn is shown in the below diagram.

Description of Overall Flow through Architecture

In this section, we will look at six flows around the network that happen (vaguely) sequentially.

  1. A new user sets up L2 Cache
  2. A new VPS operator sets up an L1 cache
  3. Content Publisher uploads data to network
  4. Orchestrator assigns content to the new L2 cache
  5. Content Publisher sets up website to route to Saturn Network
  6. End-to-end retrieval from Retrieval Client
  7. Payment Flows

A new user sets up L2 Cache

A new users goes to the Filecoin Station distribution download website to get the software distribution for Filecoin Station. This follows the flow of any desktop app download.
