This is a web app that allows users check predicted price for apartments in Lagos.
This is a group project, our team comprises of I (UI/UX Designer), one other designer, two developers and two data scientists. We started out by brainstorming on the design brief and reviewed some property website to draw insight on users needs and pain points they have when seeking for apartments in Lagos. We shared the task into milestones and worked with deadlines for all deliverables needed.
The task was shared between I and the other designer. I carried out the user interview and ideated. We both worked on the information architecture and user flow. My partner worked on the mobile responsive version of the app while I designed the web version.
The goal of this project is to allow users easily check predicted prices of various types of apartment in different areas in Lagos state while ensuring seamless and intuitive experience while using the web app.
Seeking accommodation in the area of choice and at a predetermined price is a major challenge for accommodation seekers in Lagos because individuals or estate agent fix price suitable and beneficial to them without considering the people and the quality of accommodation they are providing. Estate agents also loss client because of mistrust on pricing from accommodation seekers.
To solve this problem, Rentright was designed with a user centered approach to provide users with predicted apartment prices in Lagos. Rentright web app allows users to get estimated(predicted) prices of apartment in different areas in Lagos, it uses type of apartment, location and the amenities needed to determine price. Users can also subscribe to newsletter to get updates on new price ranges from time to time. It also have a call us CTA where users can easily contact for predicted prices of apartments in Lagos.
We designed a simple, clean and easy to use interface that has few steps which users can tap through quickly to achieve their goal.
We screened 20 users and later recruited 10 users for user interview. 6 of the users were accommodation seekers and 4 estate agents.
After the research it was clear that users are constantly frustrated about the hike in price of apartments in Lagos hence the need for a platform where users can get price prediction for apartments in the area of choice in Lagos. It was also discovered that apartment price in Lagos is determined by location, type of apartment and the amenities a user wants.
