❓Why purchase renewable energy?

Market-based adjustments to your energy consumption (in the form of PPAs, RECs, GECs, and GOs) are a great way to decrease your company’s Scope 2 (indirect) emissions. These purchases allow you to make direct, tangible actions to mitigate your emissions from your business operations, and oftentimes allow you to immediately support projects close to home!

Most energy today is generated using fossil fuels like natural gas, oil, and coal. When demand for energy is high, energy providers can burn more oil and immediately release more energy into the grid for us to use.
