• Welcome to QA Wolf! We are excited to have you as part of our Wolfpack 🐺

• Our goal is to provide a transparent and meritocratic career path for all incoming QA Engineers (relevant values: Be Open, Have Freedom and Ownership)

• We strongly believe all QA Engineers (including you!) are capable of advancing at QA Wolf, and are here to support you on your journey

• You can and should discuss your performance relative to expectations with your Lead/Manager to improve as quickly as possible (relevant values: Be Open, Seek Improvement)

• We strive to operate by these three principles for QA Engineering compensation:

  1. Impact-driven: promotions and raises are based on job performance, alignment with company values, and company needs (not on unrelated factors like previous experience, lack of previous experience, or how long you have worked here). Everyone in a given role receives the same cash compensation in line with that role’s impact (note that equity may differ depending on at what stage you joined QA Wolf).
  2. Transparent: the compensation for every role is clear and available to all
  3. Top of market: we pay what we believe to be top of market for each role

• We are very cash-upfront focused. There’s these limited amount of stipends:

  • Laptop for each QAE
  • $1,000 in office expenses to support remote work costs
  • Health Insurance
  • Ongoing learning stipend
    • Professional courses that relate to customer context
    • Technical books and other resources (podcasts, other paid internet media)
      • The only caveat is that if you buy something, we expect you to go through it
      • We’d like you to share what you’ve learned with a high level summary

• Equity compensation for new hires/promotions likely to change following additional rounds of funding. Equity does not mean “money now” and should be taken as a “skin in the game” bonus - no one can predict the future and tell you exactly how much it will be worth.

  • Set up as 4 years of vesting with a 1 year cliff
    • If you leave QA Wolf before 1 year, you get no equity.
    • If you stay for longer, every month a % of the equity becomes yours, up until you’re fully vested.

Roles & Salary

Below we outline the roles available at QA Wolf. Please keep in mind that this is an ever-evolving document and structure, and that - while detailed - it is not exhaustive (there may be situations where it makes sense to move into a role not listed).

QA Engineer 1

Annual salary: $80,000 (USD) + ~4,000 options

Description:

• Create, maintain, and investigate tests based on team needs as directed by your lead
• Report bugs to clients
• Understand outlining concepts and pick up outlining tasks from time to time
• Attend required customer meetings as directed by your lead and participate when required
