In addition to the Workgroups currently in progress, there were a couple of Trial Workgroups that decided not to continue. It is important that we include them and their contributions in our history here. To date, these included the Reddit Working Group and the Web Working Group.

The reddit working group was the driving force behind the Jupiter subreddit page. WeirdCity originally took up the charge and grew it to over 4,000 readers in size. You can read his original trial proposal here. He was dedicated to his craft and hosted several of the AMAs which to this day are still among the top posts on the reddit.

Eventually he decided to not continue and returned $45k of the $68k budget back to the DAO treasury.

The web working group’s goals were 2-fold: to ensure up-to-date information on Jupiter Space Station and to maintain key community resources on Jup.eco. This would cover both product oriented items and community oriented items. They sought to address core problems including information overload and resource fragmentation, which potentially hindered the DAO’s operational capacity. You can read the full scope of their proposal here.

Meow authored a retrospective piece addressing the fate’s of these 2 trial workgroups.

We want to thank them for their time and dedication to the DAO. The subreddit has since been taken over by the CAWG who has integrated it into their scope. Meanwhile, Jup.eco has been taken over by the CWG and parsed down significantly in its scale — but hosts several key community resources such as the branding kits and the Midjourney guides.
