Step 1: Assemble your council

In order to have a successful Workspace Refresh, you will need to form a Refresh committee or Notion Council. There should be at least one main DRI that has enough seniority and influence to make the necessary changes to the workspace, and at least one partner from IT. Ideally, the Refresh DRI and Notion Council should be comprised of people with the following titles:

• Internal Comms
• Learning and Development
• Product Operations Teams
• IT (for access, groups, and security)

<aside> 🚨 The DRI for Workspace Refresh needs to be a Workspace Owner to be most effective. Otherwise IT will become a bottleneck.

Other important considerations:

• The DRI must be an experienced Notion user or complete Notion Academy before beginning this project
• The DRI should not solely be IT because their focus tends to be workspace administration instead of workspace organization

Set up recurring meetings with your council throughout the refresh process. Nothing is more important than making sure that you are all aligned with the refresh plan!

Step 2: Communicate to your company

Once your Notion Council is assembled, you’ll need to communicate to the rest of your company that you are planning to overhaul the team’s Notion workspace.
