Time weighted voting strategies
- Typical conviction voting suffers from the "Wrapper Contract" vulnerability where the token can still be subject to a hostile takeover on a secondary market. By separating the work token from governance we solve this problem.
- An additional validation security mechanism is introduced by limiting post-vote weight accumulation into pre-vote points-mediated decay. Points can also be issued periodically which could prevent malicious actors from attempting to capture governance after a proposal has been published, even more so after voting begins A decay weight multiplier could be devised that reduces the effect of the points decay multiplier.
Background
- Conviction voting is a voting mechanism where constituents stake fungible tokens
- Time-decay: used for validation strategies
