Woah, I’m feeling the most pleasant on this train ride than on any previous ones in this journey. The active walk around Dusseldorf this morning and the nutritious but light freshly-made buddha bowl (vegan version) at dean&david have definitely prepared my body very well for the long ride. Just now, the scene outside of the train window touched my heart. The scenery has become greener and greener as we go farther away from the city, but when the plains finally became hills and the straight horizon became distant mountains, it struck me that oh yes, we are going towards the mountains again – going southward from the north coast and going eastward from the western canals! Memories of the undulating green hills and the never-ending white alps in Garmisch came back to me like warm ocean waves. They are no longer just foreign nature that made me hold my breath – they are also beloved landscape that I now have fond memories with. In previous train rides, sometimes tiredness or discomfort made me unable to really feel the pretty window scenes, and my eyes would also be “saturated” with scenes too. This will probably happen at some point in this ride as well, but at this moment, I’m really enjoying seeing beautiful scenes and beautiful memories coming up one after another, intertwining into something like arts.
