For our midterm project, we created a horror interactive device based on a Halloween theme. It takes the form of an eye and can automatically track a person as they pass by, providing a spine-chilling sensation.
This project is not only intended to create an entertaining piece that fits the Halloween theme but also to evaluate and apply the knowledge gained during the first half of the Intro to Physical Computing course.
This device can create a more terrifying atmosphere in the Halloween ambiance. Its functionality is very simple – as people pass by the eye, the eye will move in response to their position.
After searching for materials online, we found very suitable visual elements. We associated the concept with the original description of an angel – featuring huge eyes and many pairs of white wings. As a result, we decided to keep the eye as an element and artistically transformed the wings into decorations based on insect wings, incorporating features from both flowers and wings.
Acrylic sheet, servo motor, Arduino Nano IoT 33, ultrasonic sensor.
we found acrylic sheets are grate for display so we use it to make our midterm project.
