I have some exciting news to share...
My husband and I purchased our airline tickets for our fall trip. OMG! I can't wait to spend my birthday in Japan! happy dance
With the insanity of hub's job travel and a sudden big housing expense (new roofs are super pricey!), I wasn't sure if we'd be able to go this year.
Like last time, I'll do my best to post updates to our travel blog so you can travel along with us in spirit. This time, we're crossing our fingers for autumn foliage. I'll share more details as we confirm the locations we'll visit.
Okayama Castle (previous trip)
I'm deep into edits for Legend (book 3) beta read and enjoying adding in all those luscious details about Japan and its amazing culture. This first round, where I shape the diamond in the rough to reveal the best story I can, is chugging along nicely.

Here's a teaser from one of the chapters. Via telepathy, Umeji is trying to convince the soul of Honjou Masamune, the famous sword he carries, to allow her original forging to be stored in a secure location.
‘Honjou-sama, if something were to happen to me you would be lost forever. Can you think of a safer place than the League Archives?’
The face of an elderly courtesan appears above the blade and she shakes her head. But her lips are pursed.
‘I’ll verify I can retrieve you before turning you over. Does that meet with your approval?’
She nods demurely. “If that idiot tengu will treat me with respect.”
