The purpose of this workshop is to deliver statistics as an optional intro to supplement the regular Grade 10-12 BC Curriculum mathematics for learners who are in Grade 10-12. This online workshop covers four essential sections: mean, median, and mode; variance; standard deviation; and descriptive statistics. In each section, there are learning materials for students to discover, and interactive activities to experience. After completing each section, learners are able to understand the learning material, calculate and solve relevant problems, and apply their learning to real-world examples. For learners who attend this workshop, they should have a basic understanding of mathematics at least at the Grade 10 (BC Curriculum) level and understand concepts such as addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, exponents, square roots, and range. Also, since this workshop is fully delivered online, all participants should have access to a computer with an Internet connection. Students should live in the same time zone to facilitate synchronous activities, such as breakout rooms in Zoom.
