What and Why. The High Dive. The Deep End.

  1. FAST FORWARD 365 DAYS - WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF ACCOMPLISHING IN THIS FUTURE YEAR?

Let’s fast forward and assume this year has already taken place. As you imagine reflecting on your accomplishments - what do you envision yourself being most proud of and why? This is a great exercise to start giving yourself a holisitic view of what success, and therefore your goals should look like.

  2. FAST FORWARD 365 DAYS, WHAT COULD YOU END UP REGRETTING MOST?

Now consider with all the time you have this year, are there any decisions or things you must do in order to minimize the amount of regret in your hypothetical reflection. Sometimes fear can get in the way of us going after the right goals, fast forwarding and getting a true sense of whether you regret doing or not doing that thing helps add another perspective to the goal you are about to commit to.

  3. WHAT IS AN AUDACIOUS AMBITION OR PURSUIT YOU COULD COMMIT TO IN THIS UPCOMING YEAR?

What idea gets you fired up and simultaneously scared to death when thinking about? Why is this pursuit important to you? Which Core Values & Intrinsic Drivers does it align with? Is it part of your Long Term Craft? What is the worst outcome that could arise if you fail? What happens if you consider your fear as a signal that you are exactly where you need to be?

  4. WHAT ARE 3 GOALS YOU CAN SET THAT WILL CONTRIBUTE TO YOUR FULFILLMENT, ENERGY AND HAPPINESS?

Whether it is your big audacious goal or a daily routine you want to commit to, the purpose of these goals is to directly contribute to the fulfillment and energy you experience on a daily basis. You may re-commit to something that worked in the last year, or try something completely new.

  5. WHAT WILL YOU DO TO INVEST IN YOUR LIFE’S WORK?

It may be that your audacious ambition is directly aligned with your life’s work. If so, what is a less intense goal that will contribute to your longer term skills & craft? If your audacious goal is unrelated to your long term craft - identify a manageable goal that can make progress on this front.

  6. HOW WILL YOU INVEST IN OTHERS IN THE UPCOMING YEAR?

Philanthropy and impact are important components of each of our lives - to leave the earth a little better than we found it. There is a selfish motive too, giving makes us happier, more motivated and fulfilled - providing us with more energy to chase those other dreams and goals as well.
