Project Overview

<aside> ✏️ Project Title: Go Accessible: A UX Case Study My Role: UX Designer (Generalist) - I was responsible for conducting user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, designing user interfaces (UI), and optimizing the overall user experience (UX). Objective: The main goal of this project was to easily locate and select accessible transportation options, improving the experience for both new and returning users. By making it simpler for users to find routes that fit their needs, the app will enhance overall satisfaction, encourage repeat usage, and help users confidently plan their travels.

Problem Statement

John is a new user who values both efficiency and accessibility in his travel plans. He needs an easy way to find routes that suit his specific needs (e.g., wheelchair accessibility, elevators, etc.), as struggling to locate these options may cause frustration or discourage him from completing his travel plans.

Hypothesis Statement

<aside> ✏️ If accessible transportation options are displayed clearly and intuitively within the app, new users will have an easier time finding routes that meet their needs. This will result in higher satisfaction and a greater likelihood of completing their trips without frustration.

We will measure success by:

Research

<aside> ✏️ For my user research on the GoAccessible app, I conducted a mix of interviews and usability testing sessions to better understand users' needs for finding accessible transportation routes. Initially, I assumed that users would value detailed route descriptions with accessibility features thoroughly outlined at each step. However, after gathering and analyzing user feedback, I found that users preferred a simpler design that highlighted essential accessibility options—such as wheelchair-friendly routes and elevators—without excessive detail. This insight shifted my focus toward creating a streamlined, intuitive user flow that minimizes steps and reduces cognitive load, making it easier for users to find accessible routes quickly.
