Two articles for understand the difference between Universal Analytics and Google Analytics for Firebase vs the new App + Web:
In short, the new App + Web embodies the event-driven data model for web traffic that more in line with the way GA for Firebase worked for apps.

What blogs say about being able to filter/create views for Web+App:
"Filters/Views: Currently, there are no separate views or ability to filter data from App + Web properties. This poses a few challenges currently, such as:
But this blog says this:
"You will no longer see the “View” column as there are no Views in this new type of property (settings and capabilities usually done in View can now be done within the new property, and other reasons, such as creating country specific Views, can be accomplished with a quick Filter in the new property)"

@Federica Zanini I am not sure if this has been tried already but perhaps we can try to see if we can create multiple views or can we create just one view that always applies to everything? If it only allows to create one view then it would be best to set tester cookies or download an app on our phones that does this (as per the blogs in the possible solutions section).
Question to find out (but not important): This article also says that you can send the data from the app and web to same property (E.g. Web) but can create filters to be able to separate the two, all with in the Universal Analytics...is this for apps not using Firebase or how else could this merge between UA and Firebase be possible as this is the whole reason they came out with App + Web?

Nother suggestion that came up during a sssion with @Kirsten Kissmeyer is to capture the IP in the data layer as we are doing for the user iD ans use segrmentation, still the developmen of the cookie and the rerouting seemt to be our best options
