🌅 Origin of the Team + Game
- Founders were originally working on early DeFi use-cases in 2016, experience in development and tokenomics
- Have focused on bringing on game developers + designers to balance out team
- Tender has been a long-time gamer; loved many Blizzard titles
- Crabada launched in middle of Nov 2021 at ~1000 players, currently >2000 players mid-January 2022
- Chose Avalanche because wanted first game to be completely on-chain, Ava devs are shipping on time, low-gas costs b/c of subnets, and felt like similar innovative strength as the early Ethereum community
↔️ Composability (within Avalanche)
- Excited about bottom-up composability within gaming, but needs more use-cases
- Built API’s to easily publish crab NFT’s DNA - have seen lots of tooling built on top of IP already
🦀 What is Crabada ?
Fully on-chain idle game played with a team of 3 NFT crabs - 2 current game modes:
- Mining : Send crabs for ~4 hours to hunt for treasure
- Looting : Pseudo-PvP mode to battle crabs that are currently mining
- More time-intensive + no guarantee for winning = more risk
Token Ecosystem:
Three ERC-20 token
- CRA : Governance token - given as reward for playing, can also be staked for CRAM
- CRAM : Spent on in-game utility, e.g. increase # of crab teams you’re playing with
- TUS : Main reward currency earned from Mining and Looting, also the currency for Crabada marketplace
One ERC-721 Crab token
- Different class, species, and faction
⚖️ Token Balancing
- By keeping a treasury of TUS, Crabada has more ability to monitor and regulate a growing game economy w/ liquidity
- e.g. when TUS has positive price action, shows more players are purchasing new Crabada’s
- Games with more complex economies such as Crabada bring in different player archetypes that will gamify the financial layer → more robust participation in game + more need for balancing
