Through a sophisticated user research I was able to provide the company with the insights they needed in order to refine their market fit, unique value proposition and create solutions in this space.
Led the effort behind an ultra scalable and reusable design system for both Autotrader and Carsguide which helped the company get much needed consistency across its platforms and faster time to market.
carsguide.com.au - more than just another classifieds website
Cox Automotive is the parent company of both Carsguide and Autotrader. Carsguide is #1 for automotive editorial audience in Australia. Autotrader is a global classifieds brand.
There are two parts to what made this context exciting. COX's investors are dealrships, which sometimes compete against each other, and on the other hand the automotive brokerage space is heavily regulated.
Carsguide / Autotrader have been aslo regurgitating designs from the past, which has led the company into lack of visual, user interface and code inconsistencies and inefficiencies.
As a UX Design Manager at Carsguide and Autotrader I followed a Lean UX Design (Kanban) process to make sure designs were fit for purpose, and reached as much maturity as possible during the design process as possible before sending them to code.
I also worked on and led a group of two designers to work on a Design System to make sure consistency across both brands was tight.
Lastly I led and performed the Research project that helped the company find unconsidered revenue opportunities during the car-buying lifecycle.
