In small mailrooms with high parcel volumes, storage space and parcel organisation are critical. If parcels aren’t sorted appropriately, you won’t be able to find them as people come to collect them.
We suggest the following sorting and storage methods for parcels using custom barcodes.
Tiny: For items like credit cards, signed mail, or small flat cardboard parcels. Store these in a tray to optimize space.
Small: Small parcels that cannot be stored in the trays.
Medium: Medium to large sized parcels that are stored on the shelf
Large: Parcels that cannot be stored on the shelf and have to be kept on the floor
We suggest preprinting a batch of labels with the following format. Here’s a video tutorial ****on how to do it for Brother Label printers.
We suggest including the barcode so you can enter the information on the label via scanning.
Once you print the labels, you’ll have a roll for each parcel size (Tiny: T, Small: S, Medium: M, Large: L), and the labels will have increasing values similar to the ones below.
Once you hit 9999 restart the numbering process.
Here’s the general flow of how you’d use the above labels with Parcel Tracker.
