The [setTimeout()](<https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/WindowTimers/setTimeout>) method calls a function or evaluates an expression after a specified number of milliseconds. It is also a trivial way to achieve an asynchronous operation.

In this example calling the wait function resolves the promise after the time specified as first argument:

    return new Promise(resolve => setTimeout(resolve, ms));  
}

wait(5000).then(() => { 
    console.log('5 seconds have passed...');
});
