Good Good Good is a media company focused on the good in the world. We don’t cover “feel good news” but instead focus on “real good news” — the stories of the people, ideas, and movements creating solutions to the world’s greatest problems.
We reach a community of passionate do-gooders on a mission to create a better world in big and small ways. We exist to serve this community and empower them to feel more hopeful and do more good.
Every month we make a print newspaper filled with good news: The Goodnewspaper. This Goodnewspaper is our flagship product and you will be responsible for writing select articles for each edition.
We also have a (new! exciting!) website filled with content that helps our audience feel hopeful and do good. You will be responsible for writing planned (strategically chosen) and unplanned (news stories as they pop up) content for the site.
Good Good Good and the Goodnewspaper has been featured by The New York Times, Mashable, and Miley Cyrus.
We are a distributed workplace, with team members scattered around the United States. We provide a flexible schedule and care a lot about work-life balance. We communicate exclusively on Slack and email — so you’ll never get a flurry of text messages from your boss asking you to do something on a weekend.
We low-key hate the idea of a “work family” and totally want you to be able to prioritize your actual family (blood or chosen) above work. At the same time, we all just voluntarily took a trip to Texas to attend our teammate’s wedding together — because we actually really like each other.
We are neurodivergent-affirming and take an accommodating approach to our work.
We have a Slack channel dedicated to Harry Styles & Taylor Swift news and almost every team member attended the Eras Tour. (Our poor CEO couldn’t get tickets. But Amanda went twice, so it all evens out.) A normal team meeting balances work-ish agenda items with deep conversations about pop culture and deep dives in global and local politics. (And definitely side conversations featuring our very cute pets and children).
You’ll also be given the opportunity to help pitch and shape what kinds of content we cover at Good Good Good — because your unique experiences and perspectives are valued.
Applicants who make it to later stages are encouraged to contact the CEO’s references and current teammates to get a feel for the work environment.
As a senior writer, you'll consistently write helpful, meaningful articles — and be a part of making sure words get on the page and out the door.
Working with the Managing Editor, Editor-in-Chief, and Art Director, you bring each Goodnewspaper issue to life by collaboratively coming up with each issue's theme and story ideas, then write stories (which range from 150–2,000+ words).
You will also write helpful articles to live on Good Good Good's website — which range from 600–2,000+ words. The content will be a blend of good news articles, shopping/product roundups, profiles on world-changers, helpful listicles/resources, and how-to-make-a-difference guides.
