I used to think Europe is beautiful mostly thanks to their beautiful buildings. While reading Pattern language, all the good design memories flashed back. I do know what is good design, because I was a resident in Europe. And it is not only about the buildings.(churches)
My room in NL is still my favorite so far. Especially when Pixar light moves in with me.
Surprisingly, my fav seat is the "reading seat" next to my table. With a fluffy small cushion(more like foot pad) a pink blanket, and a standup lamp.
First I wonder why they buy that extra chair. But whenever I come back to room and want to rest, I seat there and squeeze my legs in, and some feeling to read come naturally when I pick up books and skim them through. It is too comfortable that I even fall asleep when reading sometimes.
Big, and I see why I always fall asleep while I'm working or reading. I the basin of attraction in my house is the sofa in the living rooms with a big TV and high quality surround sound. No wonder I watched so many Netflix this summer.
This is the most awful living space I've ever had. The room is too small that I cannot even take a full picture for my seat. Whenever roommates comes in, I need to move my chair in so she could pass through me. The experience was worse than I previously thought.
The tunnel to the library is old and long, creating a mysterious atmosphere as if i am entering a new world. People told me it is because of wrong measurement for building when constructing.
But the new library itself, Magnificent. The Uithof one is modern and gigantic, and center one is classic and elegant.
