개념
- 3차원 직교좌표계 $(a, b, c) = a \hat{x} + b \hat{y} + c \hat{z}$ 에 대한 Cross Product는
- $\vec{u} \times \vec{v}$
- $= \left| \begin{array}{rrr} \hat{x} & \hat{y} & \hat{z} \\ u_1 & u_2 & u_3 \\ v_1 & v_2 & v_3 \end{array} \right|$
- $= \left| \begin{array}{rr} u_2 & u_3 \\ v_2 & v_3 \end{array} \right| \hat{x} + \left| \begin{array}{rr} u_1 & u_3 \\ v_1 & v_3 \end{array} \right| \hat{y} + \left| \begin{array}{rr} u_1 & u_2 \\ v_1 & v_2 \end{array} \right| \hat{z}$
- $= (u_2 v_3 - u_3 v_2) \hat{x} + (u_1 v_3 - u_3 v_1) \hat{y} + (u_1 v_2 - u_2 v_1) \hat{z}$
- $= (u_2 v_3 - u_3 v_2, u_1 v_3 - u_3 v_1, u_1 v_2 - u_2 v_1)$
- $\because \left| \begin{array}{rr} a & b \\ c & d \end{array} \right| = ad - bc$
- $\vec{u} \times \vec{v}$ 의 기하학적 정의
- 크기: $\|\vec{u}\| \|\vec{v}\| \sin \theta$
- 방향: $\vec{u}$에서 $\vec{v}$방향으로 돌아가는 오른손 엄지 방향
- Cross Product가 오른손 방향인 이유는 2차원일 때 이미 오른손 방향을 따랐기 때문. 거기서 Cross Product를 하면 3차원의 방향이 자연스럽게 결정된다.
- 180도를 넘으면 방향이 반대가 됨
- Cross Product는 회전력 (Torque)을 구하기 위해 사용
- 두 벡터를 Dot Product를 하면 스칼라가 나오지만, 두 벡터를 Cross Product 하면 벡터가 나온다.
벡터식
- (Cross Product는 안되는 연산이 많다)
- $\vec{u} \times \vec{0} = \vec{0} \times \vec{u} = \vec{0}$
- $\vec{u} \times \vec{v} = -\vec{v} \times \vec{u}$
- $(\alpha \vec{u}) \times \vec{v} = \alpha (\vec{u} \times \vec{v})$
- $\vec{u} \times (\vec{v} + \vec{w}) = (\vec{u} \times \vec{v}) + (\vec{u} \times \vec{w})$
- $\vec{u} \times \vec{v} = 0 \Leftrightarrow \vec{u} // \vec{v}$
- $\|\vec{u} \times \vec{v}\|^{2} = \|\vec{u}\|^{2} \|\vec{v}\|^{2} - (\vec{u} \cdot \vec{v})^{2}$
- $\vec{u} \cdot (\vec{v} \times \vec{w}) = \vec{v} \cdot (\vec{u} \times \vec{w}) = \vec{w} \cdot (\vec{u} \times \vec{v})$
- $\vec{u} \times (\vec{v} \times \vec{w}) = (\vec{u} \cdot \vec{w})\vec{v} - (\vec{u} \cdot \vec{v})\vec{w}$
- 벡터 3중곱. 결과가 벡터가 됨. 우변의 괄호 안의 결과가 스칼라가 되기 때문에 괄호 안의 결과와 벡터의 곱은 dot product가 아니라 상수곱이 된다.
- $\vec{u} \cdot (\vec{u} \times \vec{v}) = \vec{v} \cdot (\vec{u} \times \vec{v}) = \vec{0}$
- 다른 벡터와 cross product를 한 후에 다시 자기 자신과 dot product를 하면 0벡터가 된다. 수직이라는 이야기.
