Colorbolt is so intuitive it’s almost unimpressive. Control the brightness of your screen with a swipe, and choose fullscreen colors from curated pallets with a tap. Voila!
The app is usable entirely with one hand in portrait mode, with all interactions happening through gestures and a minimal UI. Colorbolt prevents your screen from dimming or sleeping so you can keep your chosen color on display as long as you want. Hex and RGB codes are included for your reference and curiosity. May it serve you well in whatever you might need it for!
Colors and Names
Apparently there’s no totally official naming convention for hex code colors. This means that while #FF0000 is often called “Red,” it’s more of a community convention than an edict made by a consortium, like Unicode emojis. This also means that I was free to make up my own names for the colors and display them along with the hex and RGB values without feeling like a total freakin’ rebel. While color pallete 1 sticks to the basics and use conventional names, the subsequent palettes do not.
